नयी दिल्ली। जो सरकार के सुर में सुर नहीं मिलाएगा वह परेशान किया जाएगा। शुरु से मोदी सरकार का यह रवैया रहा है। यह आज फिर एक बार उसने साबित कर दिया कि सरकार से अलग राय रखना लोगों को भारी पड़ेगा। आयकर विभाग ने कर चोरी के कथित आरोपों में दो प्रमुख मीडिया समूहों - ‘दैनिक भास्कर और उत्तर प्रदेश के हिंदी समाचार चैनल ‘भारत समाचार के विभिन्न शहरों में स्थित परिसरों पर बृहस्पतिवार को छापे मारे। आधिकारिक सूत्रों ने बताया कि दैनिक भास्कर के मामले में छापेमारी भोपाल, जयपुर, अहमदाबाद और कुछ अन्य स्थानों पर की जा रही है। उन्होंने बताया कि टीवी समाचार चैनल भारत समाचार समूह और उसके प्रवर्तकों एवं कर्मचारियों के लखनऊ स्थित परिसरों पर इसी तरह से छापेमारी की गई। विभाग या उसके नीति निर्माण निकाय केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड (सीबीडीटी) से छापेमारी के संबंध में किसी तरह की आधिकारिक जानकारी नहीं मिली है। सूत्रों ने बताया कि भास्कर समूह के खिलाफ की गई कार्रवाई में समूह के प्रवर्तकों के मध्य प्रदेश की राजधानी भोपाल में स्थित आवासीय स्थानों पर भी छापे मारे जाना शामिल है।
छापेमारी आयकर विभाग की इन्वेस्टिगेशन विंग कर रही है। 23 जुलाई की अहले सुबह एक साथ सभी दफ्तरों पर छापे डाले गए हैं। छापेमारी के दौरान ऑफिस में मौजूद कर्मियों के फोन ले लिए गए हैं। साथ ही किसी को बाहर नहीं निकलने दिया जा रहा है। न्यूज एजेंसी एएनआई के मुताबिक आयकर विभाग यह छापेमारी कर चोरी के मामले में कर रही है। नोएडा, जयपुर, भोपाल, इंदौर, मुंबई और पटना समेत देश के सभी जगहों पर स्थित ऑफिस में यह छापेमारी चल रही है। इसके साथ ही समूह के मालिकों के आवास पर भी आयकर विभाग छापेमारी कर रही है। यह समूह मीडिया बिजनेस के साथ ही दूसरे कारोबार से भी जुड़ा हुआ है।
केंद्रीय अर्धसैनिक बल- केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (सीआरपीएफ) के सैनिकों और मध्य प्रदेश पुलिस के कर्मियों को भोपाल में आयकर टीमों को सुरक्षा देते देखा गया। दोनों मीडिया संगठन देश में कोविड-19 प्रबंधन की आलोचना करते रहे थे और अप्रैल-मई में देश को बुरी तरह प्रभावित करने वाली वैश्विक महामारी की दूसरी लहर के दौरान इस विषय पर कई खबरें की थीं। भारत समाचार टीवी ने अपने आधिकारिक ट्विटर हैंडल पर कहा कि “उसके प्रधान संपादक ब्रजेश मिश्रा, प्रदेश प्रमुख वीरेंद्र सिंह और कुछ कर्मचारियों के घरों तथा चैनल के कार्यालय” में छापेमारी की जा रही है। बताया जाता है कि आयकर विभाग भास्कर समूह की तरफ से दिए गए दस्तावेजों से संतुष्ट नहीं था। इसके बाद कर चोरी मामले की जांच के लिए यह छापेमारी की गई है। आयकर विभाग की तरफ से इसे लेकर कोई अधिक जानकारी नहीं दी गई है। ऑफिसों के बाहर पुलिस का पहरा भी मौजूद है। किसी को अंदर जाने की इजाजत नहीं है। साथ ही कोई बाहर भी नहीं निकल सकता है। आयकर विभाग की टीम के साथ सीआरपीएफ के जवान भी मौजूद हैं।
कांग्रेस नेता एवं मध्य प्रदेश के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री दिग्विजय सिंह ने ट्विटर पर कहा कि आयकर विभाग के अधिकारी समूह के करीब छह परिसरों पर “मौजूद हैं”। इनमें राज्य की राजधानी भोपाल में प्रेस कॉम्प्लेक्स में स्थित समूह का कार्यालय भी शामिल है। सिंह ने ट्वीट किया, “पत्रकारिता पर मोदी शाह का प्रहार!! मोदी शाह का एक मात्र हथियार आईटी ईडी सीबीआई। मुझे विश्वास है अग्रवाल बंधु डरेंगे नहीं।
मीडिया समूहों पर छापेमारी पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए, दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि ये मीडिया को डराने के प्रयास” हैं। उन्होंने एक ट्वीट में कहा, उनका संदेश साफ है कि जो कोई भी भाजपा सरकार के खिलाफ बोलेगा, उसे बख्शा नहीं जाएगा। ऐसी सोच बहुत खतरनाक है। हर किसी को इसके खिलाफ आवाज उठानी चाहिए।’ केजरीवाल ने कहा, ये छापेमारी फौरन रुकनी चाहिए और मीडिया को स्वतंत्र रूप से काम करने देना चाहिए।
मालूम हो कि दैनिक भास्कर ने उन रिपोर्टों की एक सीरीज छापी थी, जिसमें महामारी के दौरान आधिकारिक दावों का आलोचनात्मक दृष्टिकोण था, विशेष रूप से उत्तर प्रदेश में, जहां शवों को गंगा के तट पर और नदी में तैरते हुए भी देखा गया था। राजस्थान के मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत ने अखबार समूह दैनिक भास्कर तथा भारत समाचार न्यूज चैनल के कार्यालयों पर आयकर विभाग के छापों की आलोचना करते हुए इसे केंद्र सरकार द्वारा मीडिया को दबाने का प्रयास बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह केंद्र में सत्तारूढ़ भाजपा की फासीवादी मानसिकता का परिचायक है। गहलोत ने ट्वीट किया, ‘दैनिक भास्कर अखबार और भारत समाचार न्यूज चैनल के कार्यालयों पर ‘इनकम टैक्स का छापा मीडिया को दबाने का एक प्रयास है। मोदी सरकार अपनी रत्तीभर आलोचना भी बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकती है। यह भाजपा की फासीवादी मानसिकता है जो लोकतंत्र में सच्चाई का आइना देखना भी पसंद नहीं करती। गहलोत ने कहा, ‘‘ऐसी कार्रवाई कर मोदी सरकार मीडिया को दबाकर संदेश देना चाहती है कि यदि गोदी मीडिया नहीं बनेंगे तो आवाज कुचल दी जाएगी।
मोदी सरकार की इस तानाशाही कार्रवाई की देश दुनिया में निंदा हो रही है। लोग सोशल मीडिया पर भी सरकार की जमकर खिचाई कर रहे हैं।

The Income Tax Department on Thursday raided the premises of two prominent media groups - Dainik Bhaskar and Uttar Pradesh's Hindi news channel Bharat Samachar - located in different cities on alleged charges of tax evasion. Official sources said that in the case of Dainik Bhaskar, raids are being conducted at Bhopal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and some other places. Similar raids were conducted on the premises of TV news channel Bharat Samachar Group and its promoters and employees in Lucknow, he said. No official information has been received from the department or its policy making body Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) regarding the raids. Sources said that the action taken against the Bhaskar group also includes raids on the residential places of the promoters of the group located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The raids are being conducted by the Investigation Wing of the Income Tax Department. On the first morning of July 23, raids have been conducted on all the offices simultaneously. During the raid, the phones of the personnel present in the office have been taken. Also no one is being allowed to go out. According to news agency ANI, the Income Tax Department is conducting this raid in the case of tax evasion. This raid is going on in offices located all over the country including Noida, Jaipur, Bhopal, Indore, Mumbai and Patna. Along with this, the Income Tax Department is also raiding the houses of the owners of the group. This group is associated with media business as well as other business.
Troops of Central Paramilitary Force- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and personnel of Madhya Pradesh Police were seen escorting Income Tax teams in Bhopal. Both the media organizations had been critical of the COVID-19 management in the country and had made several reports on the subject during the second wave of the global pandemic that hit the country badly in April-May. Bharat Samachar TV said on its official Twitter handle that searches were being conducted at "homes and offices of the channel's office and its editor-in-chief Brajesh Mishra, state chief Virendra Singh and some employees". It is said that the Income Tax Department was not satisfied with the documents given by Bhaskar Group. After this, this raid has been done to investigate the tax evasion case. No further information has been given by the Income Tax Department regarding this. Police guards are also present outside the offices. No one is allowed inside. Also no one can get out. CRPF personnel are also present along with the Income Tax Department team.
Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh said on Twitter that Income Tax Department officials are "present" at around six premises of the group. These include the group's office located at the Press Complex in the state capital Bhopal. Singh tweeted, "Journalism is attacked by Modi Shah!! Modi Shah's only weapon IT ED CBI. I am sure the Agarwal brothers will not be afraid.
Reacting to the raids on media groups, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that these are "attempts to intimidate" the media. He said in a tweet, his message is clear that whoever speaks against the BJP government will not be spared. Such thinking is very dangerous. Everyone should raise their voice against this. This raid should stop immediately and the media should be allowed to work freely," Kejriwal said.
Dainik Bhaskar carried a series of reports that had a critical view of official claims during the pandemic, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, where bodies were also seen floating on the banks of the Ganges and in the river. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has criticized the raids by the Income Tax Department on the offices of newspaper group Dainik Bhaskar and Bharat Samachar news channel, calling it an attempt by the central government to suppress the media. He said it was a reflection of the fascist mindset of the ruling BJP at the Centre. Gehlot tweeted, 'Income tax raid on the offices of Dainik Bhaskar newspaper and Bharat Samachar news channel is an attempt to suppress the media. Modi government cannot tolerate even the slightest criticism. This is the fascist mentality of BJP which does not like to see the mirror of truth in democracy. Gehlot said, "By taking such action, the Modi government wants to send a message by suppressing the media that if Godi does not become the media, then the voice will be crushed.
This dictatorial action of the Modi government is being condemned in the country and the world. People are also slamming the government on social media.
